1.9 earthquake recorded in North Charleston

A small earthquake was detected early Monday in North Charleston.

The 1.9 tremor was detected at 3:01 a.m. just east of Fort Dorchester Elementary School, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. Small quakes are common in that area, and tremors less than 2.0 magnitude usually aren’t felt.
