Driver killed in wreck in Hollywood, Charleston County sheriff’s deputies say

A driver was killed Saturday morning after crashing into a tree in Hollywood, Charleston County sheriff’s deputies reported.

The wreck occurred shortly after 7 a.m. on County Line Road, Sheriff’s Maj. Eric Watson said.

The driver of a black Chevrolet S-10 was headed north on the road when the vehicle crossed lanes, crashed into the wood line and struck a tree, he said.

The driver was not wearing a seat belt, Watson said. Paramedics pronounced the person dead at the scene.

The Charleston County Coroner’s Office has not yet released the person’s identity.
