Deputies charge 2 people, say they helped inmates escape

PICKENS, S.C. — Two people have been arrested after officials say they helped two inmates escape the Pickens County Stockade.

Multiple news outlets report 21-year-old Semeca Dannyelle Oglesby and 46-year-old William “Billy” David Burns were arrested Tuesday and charged with aiding escape from prison.

Authorities say Jeffrey Shane Mauldin and Dustin Ryan Floyd walked off the Stockade grounds June 9.

Deputies later found Oglesby had arranged for transportation and was present when both escapees were picked up by another vehicle near the Stockade. Authorities say Burns also helped Floyd and Mauldin with transportation.

Mauldin was found Friday morning and was arrested after a brief foot chase with deputies. Floyd was taken into custody Wednesday evening.

Both men are charged with escape. It is unclear if any of the four arrested have lawyers.
