Authorities were asking for help in locating a 55-year-old James Island man who has not been seen by family or co-workers since Thursday.
Bruce Howard of Fort Johnson Road was last seen by his wife when he left for work about 8 a.m. Thursday, according to a news release from the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office. He left work around 5 p.m. and has not been seen since then, the release said.
Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office deputies found Howard’s unoccupied Chevrolet Tahoe locked and parked on Country Club Boulevard in St. George.
An active search by air and with dogs ended shortly before 6 p.m., Charleston County Sheriff’s Maj. Eric Watson said. Authorities did not find any evidence of foul play, he said.
Howard is described as a white man, 6 feet 2 inches tall, 200 pounds, with short brown hair. His family members are concerned about his well-being and safety, the release said. No evidence of foul play has been developed at this point, but the circumstances surrounding Howard’s disappearance remain unknown.
Anyone with information about Howard’s whereabouts should call the Charleston County Consolidated Dispatch Center at 743-7200.
