Delta plane makes safe emergency landing at Charleston International Airport

A Delta Plane headed to New York for Florida made an emergency landing at Charleston International Airport, according to a spokeswoman.

Charlene Gunnells said the plane landed safely about 4:15 p.m. after a report of smoke either in the cabin or cockpit. There were no reported injuries.

Delta brought in another plane that was expected to depart at 7:10 p.m. with the passengers to LaGuardia Airport. They were coming from Fort Lauderdale, Fl., Gunnells said.
