1 dead, 2 injured in early morning Georgetown shooting

GEORGETOWN, S.C. — Authorities say a 33-year-old man is dead and two more men are injured after a shooting near Georgetown.

Georgetown County deputies told media outlets that deputies responding to a call about gunfire found the injured men around 4 a.m. Saturday near a church a few miles west of Georgetown.

The coroner’s office says Deon Geathers of McClellanville died a short time after paramedics arrived. The names of the injured men have not been released.

Deputies are still trying to determine what led to the shooting. No arrests have been made.
