Daily storm chance enters Charleston forecast this weekend

Fog lingers Friday morning over Charleston near the Ravenel Bridge.

A daily chance of thunderstorms will enter the Charleston area’s forecast this weekend and persist into the coming week.

Some early morning fog Friday was expected to quickly burn off.

The weekend will start with mostly sunny skies on Friday and Saturday, but the storm risk will come Saturday night.

Here are the details of the forecast:

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 89. Northwest wind 5 to 7 mph becoming calm in the afternoon.

Friday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 67. Southwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 84. Light south wind increasing to 8 to 13 mph in the morning.

Saturday night: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 69. South wind 8 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

Sunday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 8 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 81. South wind 9 to 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent.

Sunday night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 69. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent.

Monday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 84. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent.

Monday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 66.

Tuesday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 79. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent.

Tuesday night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 64. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent.

Wednesday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 76. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent.
