Crime Stoppers reward offered in missing toddler case

PENDLETON, S.C. — Authorities say Crime Stoppers of Anderson is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the safe return of a 1-year-old Pendleton girl.

Local media outlets report Leaona Cheyanne Wright has been missing from her home since the morning of June 6. The Anderson County sheriff’s office says numerous law enforcement agencies and local search and rescue teams have been involved in searches surrounding Leaona’s home. So far, searchers have found no evidence.

According to the Sheriff’s Office’s Facebook page, an incident report says the child’s mother woke up Saturday morning and noticed the front door to her apartment open and the child missing.

During the case investigation, Travis Devon Jones, age 33, who also resides at the incident location, was taken into custody on an unrelated family court bench warrant, according to the Facebook post. No other charges have been made in connection with this case.

Sheriff John Skipper says the department is focusing its resources on the investigation and any and all leads that they receive. There are no reported suspects.
