Charleston County deputies arrested and charged 18-year-old Carlton L. Solomon Jr. with carjacking and attempted murder following the incident.

The man’s coworker Rontrell T. Matthews, 21, told deputies that he and Solomon were leaving a friend’s home on Sadie Lane in Wadmalaw about 1:30 a.m. when Solomon stabbed him twice in the chest with an unknown object and drove away in his 1997 Toyota Avalon, a Charleston County Sheriff’s Office incident report states.

Matthews told deputies nothing happened prior to the stabbing to trigger the attack, the report states.

Deputies located the vehicle abandoned on Rewes Lane, and arrested Solomon at his home on Langston Drive, the report states.
