Couple in Charleston apartment complex charged with possession of heroin

Anthony Harley and Sheniqua Mitchell of 1000 King St. are charged with possession of heroin.

A couple living in a downtown Charleston apartment complex has been charged with possession of heroin.

Anthony Harley, 32, and Sheniqua Mitchell, 29, were living at 1000 King. St., according to Charleston police spokesman Charles Francis. That’s the address for The Palace apartments.

A concerned citizen tipped off police of drug activity, and a two-month investigation followed, Francis said. Investigators carried out a search warrant and said they confiscated 36.4 grams, or 1.3 ounces, of heroin.

Harley was arrested April 10, charged with three counts of possession of heroin and remains in jail on $400,000 bail.

Mitchell was arrested April 14, also charged with three counts of possession of heroin and released on $375,000 bail, according to jail records.
