Louise Maybank, who served as chairwoman of the Greenbelt Advisory Board for 10 years, will be recognized for her service at a Tuesday meeting of Charleston County Council.
She stepped down from the position last month.
“I’ve certainly enjoyed my time on the Greenbelt Advisory Board and during these 10 years many special places have been protected for the benefit of the citizens of Charleston County,” Maybank said in a statement released by the county. “I felt this was a time in the life of the program where the leadership could be transferred gracefully, and it’s important to do that.”
The 14-member GAB evaluates the Greenbelt Program and makes policy recommendations to County Council.
