Coroner identifies 21-year-old man shot to death in North Charleston

A 21-year-old man was shot to death Monday night in North Charleston, according to police.

Malique Chaney died as a result of a gunshot wound, according to the Charleston County Coroner’s Office.

Shortly before 11 p.m., officers were sent to 4663 Nibbs Lane to check a report of shots fired and found Chaney, who had been fatally shot, North Charleston police spokesman Spencer Pryor said.

The area is between Ashley Phosphate and Dorchester roads.
