Charleston police responded Saturday afternoon to Dolphin Cove Marina after a human leg was found floating in the water.
A worker found the leg at the marina, which is located along the Ashley River east of the King Street Extension, Charleston police reported.
Charleston police referred to the appendage as an “apparent human leg” in a post on Twitter, and added that it looked as though it had been in the water for a while. The Charleston County Coroner’s Office later confirmed that the remains were human. Further details about the remains won’t be available for several days, Deputy Coroner Brittney Martin said.
