Cops' early-morning visit to Mount Pleasant apartment complex prompted by report of missing woman

It's always unsettling to hear a knock on your door at 5 a.m. and find police officers standing there.

Residents of a Mount Pleasant apartment complex experienced that moment of surprise Monday.

A 48-year-old woman's husband reported her missing at 3 a.m. Monday after she said she was going to the store for dental floss and didn't come home, according to the incident report from Mount Pleasant police.

The woman's husband traced her iPhone to Woodfield Long Point Apartments in Wando Park. Officers started knocking on doors, found her car parked in the complex and encouraged her to return home, according to the report.
