Summerville Mayor Bill Collins plans to seek re-election in November, he said Monday.

Collins, who was publisher of The Summerville Journal Scene for four decades, will complete his term as mayor in December.

“I would like to serve the citizens of Summerville for another term as mayor to finish several projects that will help make Summerville an even better place to live,” he said.

Among the projects are the last leg of the Berlin Myers Parkway, the Sheep Island interchange at mile marker 197 on Interstate 26, renovation of the armory on Hickory Street, revitalization of Oakbrook, refurbishing of Hutchinson Square and several annexation possibilities, he said.
