Coastal flood advisory to go into effect tonight in Charleston

A coastal flood advisory will go into effect at 8 p.m. and is expected to last through the night, according to the National Weather Service.

Today will also be hot and humid, with heavy rain possible this afternoon.

The high should be around 91, with heat index values as high as 101, according to the National Weather Service. The chance of rain is 60 percent, mainly after 2 p.m.

Some of the storms could be heavy, and the weather service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for this afternoon and tonight.

The weekend could be wet as well.

Saturday should be partly sunny, with a high near 90 and a 50 percent chance of rain, possibly heavy in places.

Sunday should be mostly sunny, with a high near 91 and a 30 percent chance of rain, mainly before 2 p.m., according to the weather service.
