Coast Guard crews suspended their search Saturday evening for possible missing boaters 65 miles east of Charleston.

The search began Friday after the Coast Guard received a report of a life jacket and a child’s life ring floating in the water at approximately 3:30 p.m., and a radio call for “help” was heard on VHF channel 16.

Two Coast Guard cutters, a helicopter and an airplane conducted an extensive search but found nothing.
