Clemson Extension opens new office in Berkeley County

Berkeley County Administration Building

MONCKS CORNER — The Berkeley County Cooperative Extension Service has opened a new office at the Berkeley County Administration Building, 1003 Highway 52 in Moncks Corner.

Its former office at Cypress Gardens has been closed since October’s flooding, although agents continued to work with the community and assist farmers and others.

The Extension has offices in each county to serve as Clemson University’s public outreach arm, providing unbiased, research-based information to help improve the quality of life in South Carolina.

Agents at the Berkeley County office have expertise in water resources, agriculture, horticulture, health and nutrition, forestry, economic development, South Carolina 4-H and youth development, food safety and natural resources.

The office is open to Berkeley County residents from 8 a.m. to noon. Residents should call ahead at 843-719-4140 to visit after noon.
