Clements Ferry Road now open after truck hits power lines

Clements Ferry Road is now open after traffic delays stemming from a truck that hit a power line pole, according to officials.

SCE&G tweeted out just before 3:20 p.m. that the truck hit a power line pole on Clements Ferry Road at Klister Lane, and that crews were on site.

Charleston Police Department spokesman Charles Francis said that two power lines were down. Motorists were initially asked to avoid the area, but the road is now open, he said.

According to the power company’s online power outage map, 255 customers in Berkeley County were without power as of about 4 p.m. and power was expected to be restored at about 5:30 p.m.

No other information was available.
