A James Island man was arrested and several stolen guns were recovered Tuesday in connection with a New Year's Day burglary.
Christopher Patrick Catanach, 22, of High Nest Lane, is charged with first-degree burglary and grand larceny, according to Charleston Police Department spokesman Charles Francis. He is being held in the Charleston County jail.
The burglary occurred Jan. 1 on River Haven Circle on James Island when a suspect entered the residence by breaking the glass of the back door. The suspect then stole weapons, clothing and a credit card, according to Francis.
Physical evidence recovered at the scene linked Catanach to the burglary and led to his arrest. The recovered weapons include a handgun, rifle and a shotgun.
