Chilly but sunny day ahead for Charleston

A cold and sunny day is on its way to the Charleston area, according to forecasts from the National Weather Service.

Forecasters are predicting sunny skies Saturday, with a high near 49 and a north wind of 11-15 mph.

At night, it will get colder when temperatures are expected to dip to around 27. A northeast wind of 8-10 mph is also predicted.

Regardless of whether love is in the air or not come Valentine’s Day, Sunday will start off chilly and will warm up to around 42.

A slight chance of rain enters the forecast Sunday night, along with mostly cloudy skies and a low around 35.

Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.
