A 10-year-old child was struck by an officer riding a motorcycle Wednesday at Riverfront Park, North Charleston police spokesman Spencer Pryor said.

The child ran from behind a shuttle and into the path of the motorcycle, Pryor said.

The child was treated and released from Medical University Hospital with minor injuries, Pryor said. The officer was reportedly treated for minor injuries at Roper Hospital’s urgent care annex on Northwoods Boulevard.
