A Charleston County deputy has been charged with financial identity fraud.
Detention Deputy Kaitlyn Daniels was arrested Wednesday by Folly Beach police and charged with financial identity fraud, sheriff’s Maj. Eric Watson said. Daniels was placed on administrative leave without pay.
Folly Beach Police Chief Andrew Gilreath said there are more arrests possible in the case.
He said other than being employed by the county, there appears to be no other correlation to Daniels’ job and the crime she is accused of committing.
The report was not released Wednesday.
“Once the investigation is finished and any remaining arrests are complete, the report will be made available upon request,” he said. “No further information is being made available at this time due to the ongoing investigation.”
