Police are searching for two men wanted on charges related to a home invasion last month on the Charleston peninusula.

John Edward McKnight, 26, and Blanton Dewitt Johnson, 35, both of Johns Island, are wanted on charges of attempted armed robbery, first-degree burglary and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime, Charleston police said.

The charges were made in connection with an alleged burglary Dec. 5 on Reid Street. The home’s owner told police three men “crashed” through his front door and stole $500, according to an incident report.

McKnight and Johnson should both be considered armed and dangerous, police said.

Anyone with information about the suspects can contact Crime Stoppers at 554-1111.
