Charleston police respond to two bicycle vs. vehicle crashes within the hour

Charleston police are working a bicycle wreck involving a car at Bees Ferry Road and Hunters Forest Drive in West Ashley.

Traffic is not impacted by the crash, according to police spokesman Charles Francis.

He said police, fire and EMS are working the incident, which was reported just before 5:50 p.m. The cyclist was taken to Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

This is the second bicycle crash they’ve worked tonight. There was another reported about 5:25 p.m. at 1576 Harbor View Road.

The cyclist suffered minor injuries and was not taken to the hospital, according to a Tweet from the department. Traffic also was not impacted in that wreck.
