Charleston police release sketch of strong-arm robbery suspect

The Charleston Police Department is asking downtown residents and visitors to be on the lookout for a man suspected of a strong-arm robbery on Queen Street near the intersection of Church Street.

The department on Monday released a composite sketch of the man suspected of robbing a woman there at 11:30 p.m. May 15.

According to the release, the suspect is a white male in his late 20s or early 30s. He has a thin build, about 180 pounds, and is about 5 foot 10. He allegedly got away with a $300 handbag, credit cards and a cellphone.
