Charleston police are looking for leads on a vehicle that struck a bicyclist on Riverland Drive and kept going last month.

A 52-year-old Charleston man riding a bicycle on Riverland Drive near Chipley Terrace was hit from behind about 12:45 a.m. Sept. 26, according to the incident report.

The collision broke both wheels and the seat on the light blue Next Power Climber and left the rider by the road bleeding from the nose and mouth, according to the report. The man was able to talk to police before being taken to a hospital.

Police found a broken side mirror that appeared to come from a large SUV, truck or van near the bike. No paint from the vehicle was found on the bicycle. Police suspect the vehicle sustained damage on its right side.
