Charleston residents can sit down with a cop over coffee to discuss concerns later this month.
The Charleston Police Department’s Coffee with a Cop starts at 8 a.m. Feb. 24 at the Chick-fil-A at 1656 Savannah Highway.
“We are excited as a department to participate in this national initiative,” Chief Greg Mullen said in an announcement Tuesday. “It fits perfectly with our ongoing efforts to bring citizens and police officers together to discuss community issues and opportunities. When police officers and citizens come together trust is developed, partnerships form, and we all win.”
Coffee with a Cop is supported by the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Community Oriented Policing Services.
