The man, Franklin Worsham of Charleston, was traveling north on U.S. 17 when the accident happened.
The police car driven by Taylor Grazes, 24, was traveling west on Parkdale Drive toward U.S. 17. She failed to yield to Worsham and struck his car, a 1987 Mercedes, the Highway Patrol said.
