Charleston police again ask for help in identifying James Island pharmacy robber

Charleston police say this man robbed the Rite Aid at 325 Folly Road on James Island on June 14.

The Charleston Police Department said Monday that it again needs the public's help in trying to identify the man who robbed a James Island Rite Aid, agency spokesman Charles Francis said.

Surveillance footage pictured the man with his right arm in a sling on June 14 as he robbed the store at 325 Folly Road, the police said. Francis said it wasn't known if the man actually was injured.

He was also wearing a hat, sunglasses, shorts and flip-flops, the pictures showed.

The police publicly released the images earlier in June, but a suspect had not been named.

The 20- to 30-year-old man is between 5 feet 9 inches and 6 feet tall, and he weighs between 150 and 170 pounds, the police said.

First witnesses take the stand

Alex Murdaugh wasn’t crying when officers arrived at his Colleton County hunting property on the June 2021 evening his wife and son were shot to death, first responders testified on Jan. 26 in his murder trial.
