A 61-year-old Edisto Island man is wanted after selling a stolen utility trailer for $60, according to the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office.
A warrant was issued Wednesday for Gerry Carzel Gadsden, of Highway 174 for a charge of possession of stolen property.
A woman reported to the Sheriff’s Office that Gadsden was seen driving around Edisto Island in a white full-size van and allegedly had been stealing trailers and selling them to people to support a drug habit, an incident report states.
He sold a trailer to the woman’s neighbor that was reported stolen April 12. The trailer is valued at $1,500, according to the report.
An affidavit states that Gadsden has been convicted previously on charges of shoplifting, larceny and receiving stolen goods. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 843-554-1111.
