In a press conference today, Charleston County Assistant Sheriff Mitch Lucas will discuss multiple awards that were recently presented to the office, including the National Sheriff’s Association’s Triple Crown Award, Maj. Jim Brady said.

The Triple Crown is awarded to sheriff’s offices that achieved simultaneous accreditation from the Commission on the Accreditation of Law Enforcement Agencies, the American Correctional Association’s Commission on Accreditation for Corrections and the National Commission on Correctional Healthcare, according to NSA’s website.

Lucas will discuss the accolade at 2:30 p.m. at Sheriff’s Office headquarters, 3505 Pinehaven Drive in North Charleston, Brady said.
