Charleston County sheriff’s deputies on Friday asked for the public’s help gathering clues in a drive-by shooting that happened Thursday night in West Ashley.

Authorities responded to Dogwood Road around 8:30 p.m. after bullets were fired into a home, shattering a window, an incident report states.

A 30-year-old woman who lives at the home told deputies she thought she heard about five rounds fired.

Another resident, a 25-year-old man, reported seeing a red Dodge Avenger slowly drive past the house as the shots rang out, deputies said. The man told deputies he believed someone was firing at him, but he didn’t know why.

Investigators located five .40-caliber shell casings on the road, the report states.

One of the rounds struck an Audi A6 that was parked in the front yard, deputies said. Another hit a living room wall.

No injuries were reported in the shooting, sheriff’s Maj. Eric Watson said. A suspect has not been identified in the case.
