Charleston County parents facing arrest because they are behind on child-support payments will get a chance to catch up.
Charleston County Family Court is holding a Bench Warrant Reconciliation Day on Sept. 30. The goal is to help those under a bench warrant get back on a payment plan and avoid going to jail, according to an announcement from the county.
Charleston County Family Court reports 2,715 active bench warrants. The court is working with the Department of Social Services to get parents back on track.
Those interested can visit the DSS office at 3346 Rivers Ave., Suite E, on Sept. 17 or 18 to reserve a time on the Sept. 30 Family Court docket.
