Charleston-area man missing after visiting friends in Savannah

Tim Jaskiewicz

A Summerville woman is praying that her son is all right after he was reported missing while visiting friends in Savannah several days ago.

Tim Jaskiewicz, 51, was last seen at 1 p.m. Monday in Richmond Hills, Ga., according to his mother, Linda Smith of Summerville. She said she has not heard from him since, and it worries her.

“He always calls or texts every day,” she said. “Four days is a long time.”

She posted a prayer for his safe return on her Facebook page.

His friends said they went out for an errand and Jaskiewicz was not there when they returned, and they have not seen or heard from him since, she said.

“I’ve been reaching out to everybody,” she said.

Jaskiewicz grew up Charleston and graduated from St. Andrews High School and Clemson University. He moved to Florida about seven years ago, then back to the Charleston area in December. He has three children.

He was driving a maroon 2001 Toyota Tundra with Florida license plate BDZ N21. A sticker near the trailer hitch said “Life Is Good.”
