More than 20 airmen from the 628th Civil Engineer Squadron are expected to return home from their deployment in Southwest Asia on Saturday.

During the more than 180 days they spent overseas, the team from the Charleston Air Force Base sustained a $750 million base infrastructure and supported a multitude of operations.

The engineers accomplished more than 6,000 work orders, encompassing 105,000 man-hours, to support the living areas and work centers of approximately 3,700 personnel, Joint Base Charleston said in a news release.
