A College of Charleston student died when he fell off a roof early Sunday morning.
The Charleston County Coroner’s office identified him as Spencer Pitts, 23, from Greenwich, Ct.
Pitts was a senior economics major and a member of Kappa Alpha fraternity, according to a school spokesman.
Pitts was on the roof at 23 Corrine St. in Charleston with a group of friends when he fell about 3:25 a.m., Charleston Police Department spokesman Charles Francis said. No foul play is suspected at this time, he said.
Pitts died shortly afterward at Medical University Hospital, Chief Deputy Coroner Bobby Jo O’Neal said. Toxicology reports are pending.
