Boy killed in Berkeley County wreck identified

A 5-year-old boy died in a wreck Sunday in Berkeley County.

Jordan Burch of Huger was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury.

A 2013 Chevy was headed east on Charity Church Road about 7:30 p.m. when the driver ran a stop sign at S.C. Highway 41 and hit a 1998 Honda Accord, according to the Highway Patrol. Both cars overturned.

Two children were in the back of the Accord, both properly restrained, and one of them was killed. The driver of the Accord and the other child were taken to a hospital.

Troopers identified the driver of the Chevy as 22-year-old Yabrel Talamante. He was also taken to a hospital.

The accident remained under investigation Monday and no charges had been filed.
