Bohicket Marina on Seabrook Island has received nearly $1.3 million in grants for an expansion project, according to the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service.
The award includes $833,000 in federal funds and $460,000 in matching funds. The source of the nonfederal match was not available Thursday.
Improvements funded through the grants include the addition of 768 linear feet of new side-tie transient docks, 538 linear feet of space for day dockage and an additional 258 linear feet for accommodating larger vessels. In-slip fueling, upgraded utilities and other boater amenities are included in the project.
The award to Bohicket Marina is part of $14 million granted nationwide for recreational boating, F&WS said.
