Body of missing Summerville man found in Georgia

Tim Jaskiewicz

The body of a Summerville man who went missing in February while visiting friends in Georgia has been found.

The remains of Tim Jaskiewicz were found this week in his vehicle in a wooded area near Richmond Hill, Ga., Bryan County Coroner Bill Cox said.

An autopsy was being performed to determine the cause of death, although there was no immediate indication of foul play, Cox said.

Jaskiewicz, 51, grew up in Charleston and graduated from St. Andrew’s High School and Clemson University. He moved to Florida about seven years ago, then back to the Charleston area in December, although his address of record was Apollo Beach, Fla. He has three children.

His mother, Linda Smith, had started a Facebook page reporting his disappearance and asking for help finding him.
