The body of a crabber whose empty boat was found idling Monday in the Cooper River has been recovered.
He has been identified as Jeffrey Tidwell, 51, of North Charleston, Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury said.
An autopsy will determine a cause of death. No foul play is suspected at this time, Salisbury said.
The boat was found with the engine running in neutral near the Bushy Park Boat Landing around 5:30 p.m. Monday. The body was spotted by a Department of Natural Resources airplane around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday in the same area the boat was located, Salisbury said.
DNR, the Berkeley County Rescue Squad and the Berkeley County Coroner’s Office recovered the body.
