Big blue Bunny wins national sculpture competition in North Charleston, can be seen in Riverfront Park

The judging has been completed in a national sculpture competition that’s been described as edgy and inspirational by visitors to North Charleston’s Riverfront Park.

The winner: Bunny, a large blue steel sculpture of a stylized rabbit head.

“I am very humbled and honored to be chosen,” said Texas artist Jeffie Brewer. “Riverfront Park is a wonderful space and it is a pleasure to see Bunny in that environment among so many other great sculptures.”

Bunny and the eight other entries in the juried competition will remain on display in the park through March 2014.

The competition is in its eighth year and is help in conjunction with the North Charleston Arts Festival, help May 4-11. Photos of the sculptures from last year’s competition can be seen on the festival website.
