Berkeley County sheriff’s deputies have charged two people in connection with the theft and recovery of more than $100,000 in stolen property.

Sheriff’s deputies arrested Justin Michael Gee, 26, of Ladson, after they caught him driving Ford F-150 pickup truck that had been reported stolen out of Charleston County, according to a news release. He had attempted to run from deputies on foot, but was later apprehended near Treeland Drive in Ladson, the release said.

Authorities believe Gee was involved in a theft ring that operated across the Lowcountry. On Jan. 21, sheriff’s deputies recovered a trailer worth $30,000, a dragster worth $30,000 and a 1997 Chevrolet C-3500 truck that were reported stolen in connection with the theft ring.

Sheriff’s deputies charged Gee with possession of a stolen motor vehicle, evading arrest, two counts of grand larceny and two drug-related charges. A passenger in the stolen pickup he was driving, Robin Nicole Snyder, 30, of Summerville, was also arrested and charged with obstruction of justice, deputies said.

Gee was being held Friday at the Berkeley County jail on a $100,000 bail. Bail was set at $5,000 for Snyder.
