Berkeley County Sheriff releases photo of armed robbery suspect

This man is suspected of holding up two convenience stores on Red Bank Road the morning of Jan. 24.

The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help identifying an armed robbery suspect.

At 8:35 a.m. Jan. 24, a man walked into the Kangaroo convenience store at 1044 Red Bank Road, pulled out a black semi-automatic pistol and demanded money from the clerk, according to the Sheriff’s Office. He fled the store with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect was a black man wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt with “Swamp Foxes” on the front.

Goose Creek police also said a man with a similar description and wearing a Swamp Foxes sweatshirt held up the Kangaroo store at 215 Red Bank Road the same day.
