A Berkeley County man was found dead after a crash on Interstate 77 in Columbia Tuesday night.

Albert G. Ham, 45, of Ham Road in Jamestown, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Richland County Coroner Gary Watts. An autopsy didn’t reveal a cause of death, and further tests will be necessary to determine whether he died from the wreck or not, Watts said Wednesday.

The wreck happened about 9 p.m. Tuesday on I-77 north near Forest Drive, according to the Highway Patrol. Ham was driving a 2004 Ford truck pulling a trailer when he went off the right side of the road, hit a ditch and overturned. He was not wearing a seatbelt, according to troopers.
