Berkeley County deputies searching for man accused of shooting stepfather

Lakendrick Dante Pryor

Berkeley County sheriff’s deputies are asking for the public’s help to locate a man accused of shooting his stepfather Tuesday night.

Lakendrick Dante Pryor, 26, of Pooh Lane, is wanted on attempted murder and firearms-related charges, according to county spokesman Michael Mule.

Deputies responded late Tuesday to a shooting on Pooh Lane in the Sheep Island area of Summerville and found 47-year-old Josie Evans with shotgun wounds to his legs and right wrist.

Witnesses said Evans and Pryor, who both live in the home, got into an argument that turned into a fight. Pryor left but returned with a shotgun and allegedly shot Evans.

He was taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening wounds and listed in stable condition Wednesday, Mule said.

Anyone with information regarding Pryor’s whereabouts is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 843-719-4412 or Crime Stoppers at 554-1111.
