Barbecue restaurant in North Charleston reports 262 pounds of pilfered pork

North Charleston police are searching for a suspect who brought home some boosted bacon.

The Barbeque Joint on East Montague Avenue reported Tuesday morning that three cases of pork — 232 pounds of meat — were stolen around 8:30 a.m. from behind the building. Other items reported stolen included 30 pounds of pork chops and two cases of beer, according to a police report.

The business reported that it was a $350 loss. There was no video of the incident and no suspect information was provided, the report states. No other information was released.
