Bank robbery suspect linked to two other robberies

Yohanan Hezekiah Corder is accused of robbing three banks in Charleston.

The man accused of robbing a bank on Folly Road earlier this month has been charged in two other bank robberies.

Yohanan Hezekiah Corder, 29, of Lolandra Avenue was arrested in the April 11 robbery of the TD Bank at 504 Folly Road.

Investigators believe Corder also robbed the NBSC Bank at 1870 Sam Rittenberg Blvd. in February and the NBSC Bank on Folly Road in April, police spokesman Charles Francis said. In all three robberies, a man demanded money from a teller but did not show a weapon, according to police.

Corder is charged with three counts of entering a financial institution with the intent to steal.

Surveillance video from the April 11 robbery helped identify Corder, and a search warrant at his house led to evidence that linked him to the other robberies, Francis said.

Corder was out of jail on bail on drug charges when he was arrested April 14. He had been arrested in March on cocaine and heroin charges and released on bail, according to court and jail records.

Corder is being held in the Charleston County jail.
