Arrest made after North Charleston man shot in leg

Guma Oz Dubar of North Charleston was charged with attempted murder after a man was shot in the leg.

An arrest has been made after a man was shot in the leg while working on his van Friday in North Charleston.

Guma Oz Dubar, 45, of Brookdale Boulevard surrendered Monday and was charged with attempted murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime. He was being held in the Charleston County jail on $600,000 bail Tuesday.

A man was working on his van on Beech Avenue about 2:30 p.m. Monday when a black Ford Expedition drove up, somebody called him by name, and he was shot in the lower leg when he turned around, according to the incident report.

A witness heard the victim call his wife and tell her “cab man shot me,” according to the report.

The man’s wife told police that she knew where “cab man” lived and he drives a black Ford Expedition, according to the arrest affidavit.

Police found the Expedition at Dubar’s house and identified him as the owner, and the victim’s wife identified Guzman as “cab man” from photographs, according to the affidavit.
