Armed men hold up Hollywood Family Dollar

Two men held up the Family Dollar store in Hollywood at gunpoint Monday night, according to the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office.

The robbery at the store at 6245 Highway 162 was reported about 7:50 p.m. Clerks told deputies two men wearing masks and gloves came into the store. One of them brandished a gun and demanded they open the safe and cash drawer.

The men left with more than $1,300 in cash and two cartons of Newport cigarettes, according to the report.

Deputies were studying the store’s surveillance video and had not released images as of Tuesday afternoon.
